Brian Harding

Tutor

Bio:
Hello! My name is Brian Harding and I am very happy to help you be successful. I am the rare person that genuinely enjoys taking tests, talking about tests, and helping people do better on tests. I believe the best way to learn anything is by doing, under the guidance of a master.

I am a graduate of Cornell University (B.S., Industrial & Labor Relations) and SUNY/Buffalo (M.A., History). As a student I scored in the top 1% on both the SAT and GRE. I started tutoring immediately after finishing college and found that I love to teach. I have a combined 19 years of experience in education, including 3 years of experience as a test prep tutor and 16 years as a History professor in community colleges. I have taught 14 different history classes in my career, ranging from US History and World History to African American History to History of the Holocaust to Greek and Roman Humanities.
When I am not in the classroom or teaching on Zoom, I am probably hanging out with my twin second grade children–playing chess or going ice skating or watching Captain America. I have always been and still am an avid reader, especially of nonfiction histories of all eras and regions. Currently I’m reading Rana Mitter’s Forgotten Ally: China’s World War, 1937-1945, on the war between China and Japan in World War II.
