Bio:
Growing up in Nebraska, I loved school.  As a teacher for thirty plus years at Lutheran High School in Springfield, Illinois, I continued to enjoy school.  I think that I learned as much or more as I prepared for my classes and held discussions with my students.  Teaching is the most challenging and rewarding career I can imagine.  I enjoy taking difficult subjects like Chemistry or Trigonometry and making them understandable to teenagers. Helping students to find success with math and science is still exciting and student’s successes are my inspiration.

As the Scholastic Bowl Coach, class advisor, and manager/tutor of Math Manna, our after school tutoring program, I was able to get to know and love teenagers on a personal level. Their fresh attitudes and insights have kept me energized through the years.

I recently retired from Lutheran High and moved to be near family in South Carolina.  I enjoy my grandchildren, reading, gardening, needle art, and walking trails.  I am looking forward to meeting with teenagers and helping them meet their goals and succeed.
