Bill Toomire
Bio:
My name is Bill Toomire and I am thrilled to be a member of the iAchieve Learning team! I am a native Illinoisan but every chance I get, I love to be by the ocean. My passion for teaching was ignited while volunteering as a Sunday School teacher. Once I saw the eyes light up in a student who finally “got it,” that was it for me. After a successful career in the business world, I embarked on an exciting, rollercoaster career in education.
I have a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Roosevelt University and a Master’s in Teaching from National Louis University. I am a certified K-9 teacher and during the course of my 12-year teaching career, I have had the privilege to teach grades 3 through 8. I have middle school endorsements in Language Arts and Social Studies. I am experienced in teaching in private, public, and charter school environments. Tutoring has always played a critical role in my teaching philosophy. I believe students are educated whole class, but mastery is achieved through one-on-one, tailored personal learning plans and instruction.
Aside from academics, I love anything science-fiction (well mostly Star Trek). I exercise (but I don’t like it). And I am a die-hard Cubs fan and really enjoy family time.
