Carolina Cormack-Orellana

I’m originally from Southern California and attended college in Pennsylvania at Bucknell University. I went in pre-med but the university opened my eyes to the liberal arts and I found my passions for Classics and Creative Writing, which I majored in. After graduating in 2015, I moved to Chicago to work for the Schuler Scholar Program, a non-profit that works with low-income, first generation students of color to help them gain access to and succeed at private liberal arts universities around the country. I also work part-time for Youth Services of Glenview, where I help facilitate a monthly social drop-in for LGBT young people, and a weekly support group for Queer and Trans Youth of Color. I feel lucky to work for organizations with missions that I am passionate about. In my free time I like to practice improv and write poetry and comedy sketches.
