Elisabeth Bockelman

Elisabeth is a enthusiastic nineteen year old musician living Elmhurst, originally from Galena Illinois. She primarily plays classic ‘60s and ‘70s music, jazz, and blues. She started playing piano when she was six years old and began her musical journey while in theatre. Growing up listening to the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and other classic artists, as well as her dad play the guitar–she was surrounded by music. Then at six years old she starting taking piano and voice lessons. She always found something rewarding in learning a song and then getting to perform it to an audience. She starting off playing classical piano, then in seventh grade and then expanded her music variety to jazz, while playing in the school jazz band. She then continued her love for jazz while enrolled in college. Elisabeth has experience different areas of music from classical piano to jazz, and has had experience in theatre, songwriting, recording, working at concert venues, and in performance. She hopes to inspire students and develop their skills as a musician. Piano is the foundation of music, and she hopes students find joy in playing.Elisabeth focuses on basic piano techniques, classical, improvisation, and jazz studies. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, songwriting, the outdoors, and will be happy to engage in any conversation over Paul McCartney.
