Emma Mallers

My name is Emma Mallers and I am very excited to be a part of the iAchieve team! I am originally from Arlington Heights and found my way back here in 2018 after I graduated.  For my undergraduate studies, I attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience with a Minor in French and Francophone Studies.  While I attended U of M, I spent much of my time working and volunteering at our school’s Sexual Violence Prevention Center.  I educated small groups of students on intimate partner violence, consent, healthy relationships, and everything in between! I even facilitated round table discussions with the University’s president, the president of Greek Life, and others, discussing topics such as Intersectional Feminism, Sexual Violence in Minority Populations, Inclusive Language, The LGBTQ+ Community, and many more! During my time in undergrad, I also was an active member of my sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon, and served as the secretary.

After I graduated, I worked for a year in a wonderful nursing staffing agency.  However, I realized that I truly wanted to fulfill my lifelong dream of being a therapist.  Therefore, I quit my full-time job and I am currently getting my Masters in Clinical Psychology through Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology.  My goal is to eventually have my own practice and facilitate talk therapy sessions from there!

I have decided to start tutoring because I love talking to people and helping them reach their full potential and capacity for learning.  I am proud of my patience and ability to individualize education, which I definitely was able to hone during my time working at U of M.

Outside of my studies, I have many hobbies that I’m lucky I’ve been able to explore! I am an avid reader, I enjoy discovering new music and going to concerts, camping, hiking with my beloved dog, watching movies and Netflix shows, and watching Michigan football!
