Kallie Haas

Kallie Haas is a certified age 3-21 special educator in both Illinois and Maryland. She has worked mainly within math and social studies classes in public Title 1 high schools. She has also been a home & hospital teacher, a private tutor, class council sponsor, dance coach, American Sign Language Club sponsor and academic bowl quiz show hostess! Travel and learning about culture are some of Kallie’s favorite things: In 2015, Kallie had the privilege to teach English and mentor English educators in Penonomé, Panamá through a teacher exchange program, “Panamá Bilingüe.” She has also taught English to high school students in Chiquilá, Mexico through “Instituto Liderazgo Juvenil de Chiquilá.” Kallie has visited the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and other ancient Egyptian ruins though a teacher exchange sponsored by Georgetown University (Washington, DC). Besides teaching, Kallie worked full-time as a flight attendant for a regional airline (she really does love to travel!)! She currently works within a high school as a special education teacher assistant and is the Vice President of the Des Plaines Friends of the Parks, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide low-income students scholarships so they may participate in recreation programming within the park district.
