Bio:
I’m a teacher at heart. I currently teach English Language Learners from China at a local high school, and I have also taught youth and adults from all over the world. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Truman State University and also my Master of Arts in TESOL (Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages) from Wheaton College. My wife and I recently adopted a 4-year-old girl from China, and she has captured our hearts. I’m learning how to make dumplings and put on doll clothes! I’m tutoring because I enjoy helping students advance in their education and achieve their academic goals. I’m thankful for all the people who helped me along the way in my educational journey, so I know how important it is to have someone come alongside you in the midst of a difficult subject or challenging assignment. I’m originally from Springfield, but Chicago has been my adopted hometown for the past 20 years. When I’m not teaching, I like to read, run and tend to my garden (which now includes bok choy!).
