Personalized ACT & SAT Tutoring
Preparing for the ACT and SAT can feel overwhelming, especially when students are balancing school, extracurricular activities, sports, jobs, and college planning. With so many test dates and preparation options available, it can be difficult to know where to begin.
At iAchieve Learning, we simplify the process by creating a personalized test prep program tailored to each student’s goals, strengths, weaknesses, and testing timeline. Whether your student is taking their first ACT or SAT, working toward a scholarship, or aiming for a competitive college admissions score, our experienced tutors provide the support and guidance needed to succeed.
From the initial practice test through test day, we help students build the skills, strategies, and confidence needed to perform at their best.
Should My Child Take the ACT or SAT?
One of the most common questions parents ask is whether their child should prepare for the ACT or SAT. The good news is that colleges and universities accept both exams, and neither test is preferred over the other. However, students often perform better on one test than the other based on their individual strengths, academic background, and testing style.
That’s why we recommend that students take both a free practice ACT and SAT before beginning a test prep program. By comparing scores, analyzing strengths and weaknesses, and reviewing performance on each exam, we can determine which test is the better fit and develop a personalized preparation plan designed to help your student achieve their goals.

“I had never taken the SAT before and took a free practice SAT with iAchieve Learning at the library. On my practice test I got a 1220 which I was pretty excited about. I worked with a tutor for about 5 weeks and just took the real SAT for the first time and earned a 1470! My tutor was very helpful and explained strategies that I didn’t know.” – student from Park Ridge

✔️ Experienced ACT & SAT Tutors
Our test prep tutors are carefully selected based on their academic backgrounds, test prep experience, and ability to connect with students. All of our instructors have scored within the 90th percentile on the ACT and SAT, are qualified to teach all sections of the exams, and understand both the content and test-taking strategies needed for success. Most importantly, they know how to explain complex concepts in a way that students can understand and apply on test day.
✔️ Content Knowledge + Proven Test-Taking Strategies
Success on the ACT or SAT requires more than simply knowing the material. Our tutors help students review and master key concepts while teaching proven strategies for pacing, time management, identifying common distractors, and approaching questions strategically. Students learn multiple ways to solve problems so they can work more efficiently, avoid common mistakes, and achieve their best possible score on test day.

Students receive access to our comprehensive ACT or SAT curriculum, including our Online Test Prep Portal, digital ACT or SAT workbook, video solutions, full-length practice tests, and extensive supplemental resources. Frequently Asked Questions:
⬇️ 1. When should my student start preparing for the ACT or SAT?
The best time to begin preparing is during the summer after sophomore year or the fall of junior year. This gives students enough time to build skills, take multiple official tests if needed, and prepare without feeling rushed. We generally recommend that students complete most of their testing by the end of junior year so they can focus on college applications and essays during the summer before senior year. Students can still begin a test prep program later, including January of junior year, but they will have a shorter preparation timeline.
⬇️ 2. Should my student take the ACT or the SAT?
All colleges and universities accept both ACT and SAT scores, and neither test is preferred over the other. Because students often perform differently on each exam, we recommend taking both a free practice ACT and SAT. By comparing scores and analyzing performance, we can determine which test is the better fit and develop a personalized preparation plan based on the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals.

⬇️ 3. How much can my student's score improve?
Every student is different, and score improvement depends on factors such as baseline score, academic background, motivation, and the amount of time dedicated to preparation. While no score increase can be guaranteed, many of our students see meaningful score improvements through consistent practice, personalized instruction, and proven test-taking strategies. Students who begin preparing early, stay engaged in the process, and complete their assignments often experience the greatest gains.
⬇️ 4. What is the Online Test Prep Portal?
Our Online Test Prep Portal provides students with a comprehensive ACT and SAT curriculum, over 1,500 practice questions, full-length practice tests, progress tracking, and detailed score analysis. The portal also includes a large library of worksheets and targeted practice assignments for specific skills and question types. Every practice problem includes a detailed video solution, allowing students to receive immediate feedback, review concepts independently, and better understand the reasoning behind each answer. By tracking student performance and progress, our tutors can use this data to customize lessons, target weaknesses, and create a more effective and personalized learning experience.
⬇️ 5. How many times should my student take the ACT or SAT?
We generally recommend that students plan to take the ACT or SAT between two and four times. Most students do not earn their goal score on their first attempt, and that is completely normal. Taking the test multiple times allows students to gain experience, continue improving their skills, and build confidence with each administration.
Planning for multiple test dates also helps reduce pressure. If a student is sick, has a family emergency, experiences testing irregularities, or simply has an off day, they still have additional opportunities to test. By taking the ACT or SAT over the course of several months, students can continue improving their scores and ultimately choose the best scores to send to colleges.
⬇️ 6. What makes iAchieve Learning different than other test prep companies?
Unlike many large test prep companies, we do not believe in cookie-cutter programs. Every student’s goals, academic background, strengths, weaknesses, and learning style are different, which is why every iAchieve Learning Test Prep Program is customized to the individual student.
As a family-owned business, we work closely with both students and parents throughout the entire process. Students receive personalized one-on-one instruction, full-length practice tests, access to our Online Test Prep Portal, targeted homework assignments, performance tracking, and ongoing parent communication. Our tutors are trained in the iAchieve Learning curriculum and methodology to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for every student. Our goal is to provide students with the instruction, resources, accountability, and support they need to achieve their goals and feel confident on test day.
