The amount of EdTech (educational technology) available out there for school districts to discover and invest in is quite mindblowing at the moment. It is, of course, a multi-billion dollar industry, and it continues to grow even during the pandemic.
In 2019, just in the United States alone, $1.7 billion was raised by education technology startups through private equity and venture capital. In the middle of the pandemic, in 2020, more than $2.2 billion was presented as the industry continues to surge.
This does not consider the companies paving the way for the last decade to improve education through technology.

Studies have shown that about 67 percent of all EdTech purchased by school districts in the United States go unused by the educators, students, and administrators. They are resulting in billions of dollars wasted every single school year. For school districts scrimping for funding, this must be avoided.

VIP Kid employs people to teach English to kids that are trying to learn the language. These students may be in just about any country as long as they have a good internet connection since the English lessons happen over video conferencing apps. It just goes to show, you do not have to have the latest and greatest technology to create a space in EdTech if there is a need for the product.
DreamBox Learning
Math can be challenging to learn for many students, and if they fall behind early on, it is tough to always be in the catch-up mode. DreamBox Learning is an online digital math program for K-8 students. The interactive lessons adapt to each student as it measures out their strengths and weaknesses. LightSail
LightSail is a comprehensive literacy program that is available to K-12 students. If a district is interested in bettering its reading and writing programs, LightSail is an option that should be considered. With an online library of thousands of books all leveled according to the Lexile measures with comprehensive quizzes attached, students can read both fiction and nonfiction text for plenty of years to come. Teachers will have access to data detailing each student’s reading level and even can assign lessons ultimately through LightSail. It will document how much time students are spending on reading and writing as their skills will continue to grow with the more effort they put into it.
