Do you have the next J.K. Rowling in your house? We want to help you become the next FANTASTIC WRITER that the world deserves to hear! Writing is a great outlet for students to express themselves and be creative. This class covers brainstorming ideas, book structure, and editing skills. Your child will explore the natural gift of storytelling all humans have within them and come out of the class with a manuscript that’s ready to share!
Students will:
- Discover literary genres and pick one to write in
- Discuss the tools writers use to plot out their story and make it come to life
- Learn how to brainstorm ideas by saying YES to your thoughts
- Improve editing skills by figuring out what your story is trying to say
- Grow your creativity through writing exercises
- Work in a fun and supportive community to share their work and get feedback
***We are only taking a maximum of 12 students so please register quickly!
This class will be taught by Ryan P.C. Trimble. Ryan has been a tutor at iAchieve Learning for around 2 years and he has a Bachelor’s Degree in Film Studies & French Language. He is currently working on his second novel (my first, “Fragments from 5th Ave,” was published in summer 2014) and also enjoys improvising with one of the several improv troupes he performs with in Chicago. Read more about him here!
