Dennis Pavlik
Bio:
I have obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Master’s of Science in both Computer Science and Anthropology from Northern Illinois University. My love of teaching springs from my deep love, enjoyment and fulfillment in learning. Through learning an individual accumulates not only more knowledge of a particular subject matter but also develops more understanding and openness to other people and ideas. Through knowledge one becomes more productive. Through understanding one becomes more wise, content and mature as they fulfill their higher level needs. It is these aspects of learning that I want to impart in my students. The ultimate measure of my teaching ideas and methods is when my student have come back and said “I got a job in …”, “I have been doing some extra reading in …”, “I’m continuing going on to school in …”, and many other statements that indicate that I have assisted in their attainment in bettering themselves and valuing education. I enjoy sharing my wide range of interests, enthusiasm and knowledge with my students. I draw upon my work experience and accumulated knowledge base to enhance classroom presentations, tutoring sessions, substantiate theory and spark enthusiasm. During my off-hours, you can find me pursuing one of my wide range of personal interests in art, anthropology, electronics, music and trains, visiting a museum, or reading.
