Bio:
I live in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and I enjoy freelance programming, making digital art, spending time with my wife and our two dogs. I’ve enjoyed working as both an online SAT/ACT Tutor and math instructor at McNeese for the last 5 years, and love working with students in both contexts. As a math teacher, I’ve always loved the process of developing new lectures that take sometimes difficult concepts and present them in a manner that’s simple, easy to understand, and even entertaining! I take a very interactive approach, asking questions along the way to give students an opportunity to engage with the material being presented to them. As an SAT/ACT tutor, I’m able to take what I already love about teaching and apply it tenfold, developing customized lessons where I can focus entirely on my individual students’ strengths and weaknesses. I believe that along with content knowledge, students must have a good mindset and strategy when going into tests, standardized or otherwise. As such, I also specialize in test taking strategies and helping students develop a mindset where they’re ready to make the most out of the content knowledge that they’ve worked so hard to build.
