Lynn Gilbertsen

Bio:
I am a native Chicagoan, long-time classroom teacher, and mom of two young children. I have been working with students for over 15 years to help them develop the skills they need to feel confident and successful in any subject they encounter. I have taught and coached students in the Chicago Public Schools, multiple suburban school districts, tutoring centers, and private schools. My passion is helping students and their families feel excited and positive about learning and educational growth. Strong literacy skills are at the center of academic success, so I feel lucky to help young people develop the reading, writing, and communication skills they need for personal, academic, and professional fulfillment. I’m also an avid traveler, hiker, and citizen scientist. When we have an open weekend, I take weekend trips with my husband and kids in our 1974 Volkswagen Camper Van!

Reading, Writing, English, Composition, Social Science, US History, World History, Geography, ACT/SAT Test Prep Proctor, and Academic Coaching (organization, time-management, study strategies, etc.).
