Bio:
Growing up, I took lessons in everything from roller skating and swimming to playing the trumpet and music composition. I saw from the start how receiving private lessons always gave me a huge head start in becoming a strong musician, especially with piano, guitar, and trumpet. The one-on-one instruction I received with my school subjects allowed me to be virtually always ahead of the curve with my classes.
So, working one-and-one with students is something I love to do, especially when I’m able to help make the light come on in understanding. I’ve taught trumpet lessons even since I was a high school student.
Call me crazy, but I actually love taking the ACT. I’ve taken it 5 times so far. I worked earlier as an ACT prep tutor, and I enjoyed so much helping students master the skills and the strategies needed to maximize their scores.
I love to travel and to learn about other parts of the world. I’ve been blessed to travel through and/or live in 20 foreign countries. I’ve worked in the Mother Theresa homes in Calcutta, India; studied for a semester in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala; and taught English in a school in Haiti.
In my spare time, I enjoy music in a variety of ways. I’ve played at 24 weddings and counting. I love big dogs, watching NFL games, and eating at ethnic restaurants.
