Tutor

Bio:
My name is Rhea Verma and I recently moved to Chicago from Southeast Michigan! I recently graduated from the University of Michigan with my BSE in Biomedical Engineering. I worked as an R&D Design Engineer in the medical device industry before altering my career trajectory. Currently, I am a medical student at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. In my spare time, I enjoy indoor rock climbing and making clay jewelry!

I began my teaching journey in high school by tutoring fellow classmates in IB Math and IB Chemistry after school. I enjoyed it so much that I made more of an effort to enter the teaching realm at University. Throughout undergrad, I was a private tutor for Organic Chemistry, led weekly Fluid Mechanic study groups within my professional fraternity, and was an upper-level Teaching Assistant for 2 years. In every position, my role was to understand the professor’s learning goals and objectives so that I could effectively prepare my own course materials. I’ve had the pleasure of working with students with learning abilities across the spectrum and diverse backgrounds. I enjoy learning about each student, tailoring our discussion to their needs, and giving them even more confidence in the classroom. I truly believe in the power of education and the privilege we have to partake in it, which is a major reason why I am eager to continue my teaching journey through iAchieve!
